Growing up, Donna Hourani was surrounded by creatives — her grandmother was a renowned fashion designer, whilst her mother was an artist. Their passion for creating beautiful pieces in any medium was passed on to Donna who began her own jewellery line.

This season, Donna pays homage to these women, specifically her grandmother, with a collection called Jaroor El Teta. Simple items she found in her drawers during her explorations as a child such as a needle and thread, thimbles and hairpins inspired the collection.

The pieces have been reimagined with a fine jewellery spin and have been made using natural and ethically sourced gemstones such as Tourmaline and Blue Topez and finished in 18k white, rose and yellow gold.

"All over the world there are women like my grandmother — hardworking and independent, who do what they do without any recognition. These are the women I want to wear my pieces. It's a story that everyone can relate to," the designer says of the collection.

The collection also features a piece that nods to her Lebanese heritage — a delicate necklace crafted from antique silver Lebanese coins.
