Boucheron has offered precious animal pieces since it was formed way back in 1858. The House's 'Extravagant Bestiary' fine jewellery collection has become a veritable curiosity cabinet of creatures created to delight and dazzle lovers of finely crafted jewellery.

Each design is a piece of art and a testament to the legendary craftsmanship of the house's artisans.

Boucheron turns to Greek mythology and uses the famed winged horse Pegasus as the muse to create a beautiful ring - the perfect gift for the Chinese New Year of the horse for 2014.

Pegasus was thought to sired by the Greek god of the seas, Poseidon, and legend has it that everywhere the winged horse struck his hoof to the earth, an inspiring spring burst forth. In keeping with the mixing of sea and sky, the artisans at Boucheron crafted Pegasus's flowing mane and wings out of glimmering paved diamonds, set against the diamonds and blue sapphire that adorn the majestic horse's head.

The Pegasus ring by Boucheron retails at 147,200dhs and is available at Boucheron boutiques in the Mall of the Emirates and at the Galleria on Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi.
