Luxury meets streetwear

On day two of São Paulo Fashion Week came Gig's curated street-esque collection. Buro 24/7 Middle East was front row to discover the silhouettes...

The street culture in São Paulo is cultured and creative, a sign of not only the industry but a progressive nod to the influence of the digital age, a movement Gig's Gina Guerra and Patricia Schettino choose to channel. This season the creative duo constructed a collection of 30 looks, each as achingly cool as the next. Constructed from the same knitted thread — a signature of the Brazilian brand and created exclusively in-house — as previous seasons, the looks were inspired by the silhouettes of the 70s, 80s and 90s, think hooded jumpsuits, off the shoulder pleated dresses and pussy bow blouses. Victorian sleeves and corsets also made an appearance. Setting the models on course were sock-shoes, a highlight worthy of the international fashion circuit.

The colour palette was accented with shimmering swatches of green and orange inflected with gold and set against a midnight black.
