New York Fashion Week S/S'19: Day six highlights
Here are the collections you need to see...
Day six of New York Fashion Week has officially ended and whilst we thought that we'd already seen some of the schedule's strongest contenders, we were wrong. Day six saw Zimmermann, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Proenza Schouler and Veronica Beard deliver achingly cool Spring/Summer '19 collections...
What you need to know: Australian fashion label Zimmermann held an exceptional runway show at New York Fashion Week overnight and their Spring/Summer '19 collection delivered a slew of vintage-inspired pieces. Known for its chic and timeless creations, the looks for this collection were inspired by the 1970s Australian soap Number 96. Hence the psychadelic printing and retro silhouettes.
Wishlist-worthy item: Every. Single. Piece.
3.1 Phillip Lim
What you need to know: 3.1 Phillip Lim's newest collection is the ultimate safari wardrobe. With modest cuts, lightweight fabrics, relaxed silhouettes and a desert-inspired colour palette, the elongated pieces are Middle Eastern-ready.
Front row: 3.1 Phillip Lim received a slew of support with celebrities and musicians sitting front row to witness the collection. Famous faces including Sofia Richie, Khalid and Kelly Rowland were just some we spotted.
What you need to know: Proenza Schouler’s Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough swapped their Parisian showcase for New York this season, and the result was completely different. With more use of denim, mix-match prints and blinged sweatshirts, the ready-to-wear pieces were also complimented by statement accessories (as seen on Kaia Gerber).
Middle Eastern moment: British-Moroccan model Nora Attal walked Proenza Schouler's runway show yet again, this time modelling a black, cut-out, ensemble.
What you need to know: It was an '80s comeback at the Veronica Beard show overnight. The collection boasted botanical prints, modest hemlines, monochrome pieces, disco-inspired pieces and frocks cut like an oversized Hawaiian shirt.
In case you missed it: Each look came complete with big chunky belts that added an extra dose of '80s nostalgia.
Now, take a look at the collections from day five of New York Fashion Week.
