Blue, green and purple spaceship lights hung above bubble wrapped benches as guests took their seats to witness the highly anticipated Marni Fall/Winter '17 collection. Designed by Francesco Risso, who was announced as the new Creative Director at Marni following Consuelo Castiglioni's departure from the brand in October last year, the new look for the Italian fashion house conjured up mixed reviews.

What was presented was a collection of colour block outfits in grey-green, yellow, blue and pink pastel. Inner wear was worn as outerwear, glossy sixties-styled prints punctuated disco-esque sequin dresses. Then came the raincoat-like fur-lined hats, paired with patent and fur jackets.

There was also an achingly cool new shoe design – heels were Art Deco and toes were elongated and square.
