Following on from Alice + Olivia's art-inspired Spring/Summer '16 collection, the New York-based label has translated the same concept into its Fall/Winter '16 collection. The CEO and Creative Director of the brand, Stacey Bendet – who recently jetted to the region to discuss her new direction and designs – also looked towards American painter, Frank Stella, for inspiration.

Known for her wide-legged trousers, delicate embellishments and on-point accessories, Bendet injected autumnal tones into bold silhouettes including mid-length skirts, long elegant gowns, shift-dresses and blouses complete with bow-tie accents. The 36-strong looks echo an edgy glamour juxtaposed with feminine chic through intricate beaded animals including birds, butterflies and owls, while cheetah, paisley and floral prints are highlighted on rich fabrics of brocade, knits, metallics, suede, leather and lace.

Alice + Olivia isn't the first brand to look towards art and music for inspiration. Parisian footwear brand, Roger Vivier, just unveiled their latest campaign and short film, which incorporates rock 'n roll with luxury footwear.
