As the Dubai-based fashion platform welcomes new talents to showcase their latest collections at Season 8 of Fashion Forward Dubai, Buro 24/7 Middle East shines the spotlight on three designers: Arwa Al Banawi, Kristina Fidelskaya and House of Nomad...

Arwa Al Banawi

Welcome to Hotel Casa Maläna – the backdrop for Arwa Al Banawi's Spring/Summer '17 presentation during Fashion Forward Dubai. The Saudi designer captured a positive essence through a 25-look collection, aptly titled Hotel Casa Maläna 1968, which was injected with soft cotton, jersey, silk, satin, linen and sequined fabrics. Also explored was an eclectic mix of prints, pop of vibrant colours, tailored cuts and a modern twist on a woman's suit.

Complete with lightly blushed makeup, the beauty looks by MAC Cosmetics delivered a fun and flirty statement. Backstage before the show, Buro 24/7 Middle East spoke with Makeup Key Artist Mariam Khairallah, who commented that the look was inspired by a rose. "We wanted the models to be very natural so we used a MAC blush for her eyes and cheeks, simple mascara and exaggerated the eyebrows."

Kristina Fidelskaya

Dubai-based designer Kristina Fidelskaya - who also teamed up with an upcoming music festival in the city - showcased her Spring/Summer '17 collection at Fashion Forward Dubai. The collection, titled Amore, consists of 74-pieces and is injected with the eponymous label's feminine aesthetic and seeks inspiration from "the duality of love," says Fidelskaya. "From an updated bomber dress to ethereal chiffon blouses, you will find a contrast of styles throughout this collection that stems from a woman's balance between these two very raw emotions (passion and romance)." Blending masculine silhouettes with feminine fabrics - think chiffon, cotton and delicate lace - the collection embraces a repetitive colour scheme of olive, peach, ivory, gold and bronze.

House of Nomad

Co-founders of the Dubai-based label House of Nomad, Ahmed El-Sayed and Saleh Al-Banna, showcased a vibrant collection in collaboration with Reebok Classics during Fashion Forward Dubai. Consisting of both men's and womenswear, the collection was an explosion of bright hues, achingly cool contrasts between fabrics such as mesh, cotton and matte satin, bomber jackets as well as crop tops injected with the brand's signature name.
