For the new Autumn/Winter 15 season, Zac Posen sidestepped the usual voluminous, over-the-top gowns he is known for and opted for a leaner, meaner silhouette. Using jersey as his fabric of choice, the 34-year-old American fashion designer incorporated draping and pleating techniques to create a new sense of free movement.

Incorporating opulent jewel tones into his colour palette, Posen explained that he wanted to do something different this season, noting in a preview: "You've got to keep it surprising and add new styles and feelings to the vernacular."

A Seventies vibe was felt throughout the lineup, and an unlikely pairing of muses came in the shape of the regal elegance of Grace Kelly and "the spice of Chaka Khan."

Daytime looks were given a chic polish thanks to some smart tailoring and mink neck scarves, whilst Naomi Campbell closed the show wearing a signature Zac Posen ball gown, which was done in sparkly ruby red – think Dorothy's iconic slippers, with Posen referring to the dramatic finale as "a surprise; just a tease."

Perhaps the biggest surprise was there weren't more of them but it's a refreshing lean, mean, new dawn for Posen... And for those that are concerned: Don't worry, they still feature in the collection, he just opted not to show them this season.
