Net-a-Porter continues to book the big guns, as it is announced that the luxury eCommerce giant will exclusively carry Tom Ford menswear and womenswear in a new exclusive online partnership.

Tom Ford, which is currently available in 110 bricks and mortar boutiques as well as the brand's own eCommerce site, will go on sale on Natalie Massenet's (and Yoox's) online shopping empire from July.

"Net-a-porter is extremely strong in selling designer merchandise online and obviously Tom Ford ready-to-wear online, bags and shoes is a massive draw for our customer," said Sarah Rutson, Net-a-porter's vice president of global buying. "We've got a proven track record of selling at this level, especially brands that either have very limited e-commerce themselves or no e-commerce."

Toby Bateman, the buying director of Mr Porter revealed to WWD that the Tom Ford deal actually happened before Net-a-Porter unveiled its Chanel exclusive for the 'Coco Crush' jewellery line earlier this year. Bateman explained that Ford and Massenet – Net-a-porter's founder and chairman – have been discussing the partnership for a long time.

"There's been a broadening of the collection that Tom Ford is offering," said Bateman. "There's been a surprising element of sportswear in those collections. That evolution is something that again makes the timing right to work with a company like Mr Porter. Not only will we be stocking the signature three-piece business suit and tuxedo program, but we'll also be stocking really the strong denim program, too."

For womenswear, Net-a-Porter will carry an edited buy of Autumn/Winter 15 including shoes, accessories, cosmetics and fragrances. For menswear, Mr Porter will offer Autumn/Winter 15 ready-to-wear including tailoring, formalwear, luxury casual wear, shoes, accessories and grooming collections.
