London Fashion Week: Temperley London Spring/Summer 16
Inspired by Latin America, Alice Temperley's Spring/Summer 16 collection for Temperley London took its turn on the runway in zesty summery hues that suggested they would lend themselves well to hot Havana nights.
With an emphasis on embroidery, further inspiration for the collection came from images by Robert Polidori. "I wanted this to be romantic and decadent, but also colorful and happy," said Alice Temperley. "Clothes should be about escapism, and for summer they should also be easy, comfortable, cool and eclectic."
Silhouettes boasted a billowy and breezy feel that carried the London designer's signature bohemian style effortlessly into day. Composed of lightweight silks and airy cottons, standout styles included a silk tropical number with a halter-neck that featured a parrot print and the one of the closing evening dresses that featured mirror sequins and flutter sleeves in a body-hugging sheer finish.
No doubt this beautifully bright collection will capture the attention of new Temperley London followers come Spring/Summer 16, if they haven't swooned already. The collection was chockfull of wearable separates that will surely capture the hearts of many, as Havana captured the heart of Alice Temperley.
