New York Fashion Week: Rodarte Spring/Summer 16
Kate and Laura Mulleavy were inspired by poetry for Rodarte's Spring/Summer 16 collection, not any poet in particular but rather, "It was a more romantic interpretation of what a poet would mean in our world," according to Kate. What this really translated to was a whimsical seventies influence – Stevie Nicks neck ties and unseasonably shaggy coats.
Dreamy glamour made its way into the lineup through metallic touches of threading, embroidery and appliqué. A pair of silvery knee high boots shone out here. Elsewhere belted waistband on skirts and pants were decoratively pretty and feminine. And it was lace, lace and more lace for evening.
