The fashion forecast colour company has just revealed a nature-inspired shade as colour of the year...

The highly anticipated shade of Pantone's Colour of the Year has just been revealed: Greenery. Known for setting the seasonal tone, the forecast colour company – who recently released its own digital palette – have decided on a shade that is influenced by today's growing trend and a move towards a healthier lifestyle through food, fashion and the environment.

The plant-like hue, which is highlighted in a 45-second video, has already been seen on several runway collections including Gucci's Spring/Summer '17 men's collection and is a bolder take on last year's two tone theme in Rose Quartz and Serenity.

Leatrice Eiseman, the Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute said: "Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the reassurance we yearn for amid a tumultuous environment. Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalise, Greenery symbolises the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose."
