Two months after Public School was awarded the inaugural Men's International Woolmark Prize, fellow American designer Marcia Patmos and her label M.Patmos has been awarded the prestigious gong for the womenswear category.

On Tuesday, the winner was announced a special event in Beijing, after hopefuls presented their collections to an esteemed panel of judges which included Victoria BeckhamVogue China editor in chief Angelica Cheung, Vogue Italia editor in chief Franca Sozzani and British journalist Colin McDowell.

"I felt that Patmos embodied best what the IWP stands for," Victoria Beckham in a statement. "The collection was well executed and the concept interesting." Patmos will be awarded $76,366 in prize money and the opportunity for her collection to be carried at Saks Fifth Avenue, Harvey Nichols, 10 Corso Como, Joyce, Isetan Mitsukoshi, David Jones and Mytheresa.com.
