The French luxury goods corporation LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy) has just sold Donna Karan to G-III Apparel Group for Dhs2.4 billion. The New York-based group has previously acquired brands including Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger, with Karan now added to their portfolio.

The sale of Donna Karan and its DKNY label marks the second time LVMH, has sold a fashion brand in its 30-year history, following the 2005 sale of French fashion label Christian Lacroix.
