Just in: Islamic Fashion and Design Council to close Paris Fashion Week
From the region to Paris
During the International Fashion Summit in Paris, the Islamic Fashion and Design Council, announced they're adding Middle Eastern fashion to one of the most recognisable fashion weeks of the season. Winners of the Islamic Fashion and Design Council Award — think Bambah, Natasha Kamal, Jeny Tjahyawati, Dian Pelangi, Holik Gloves, Al Nisa and Amal Al Raisi — are set to showcase their collections for the first time in Paris. Hosted at the Plaza Athénée, the invite-only event will act as a platform to recognise emerging (and Middle Eastern) talents as a jury of experts will be on site to present the designers at the International Fashion Summit.
"This type of talent is rare in France, and we are bringing them to our platform so we can build on the already powerful fashion assets we have in our country", said Djamila Kerdoun, Founder and President of the International Fashion Summit. "I have gone far and wide to many countries to bring top talent from various backgrounds and cultures. My global network has led me to a spectacular skill that will compliment the local scene in Paris. It's a rare beauty, but because beauty exists everywhere, I plan to unveil it in this showcase."
The Islamic Fashion and Design Council winners will showcase their collections on October 4, 2017, during Paris Fashion Week.
