The International Woolmark Prize has revealed the finalists for the India and Middle East prize this year. A dozen designers across menswear and womenswear have been selected to receive the AED 150,000 financial prize to put towards their next collections, a year of mentorship and support from IWP and stand to be invited to enter the international prize competition. For the first time in the UAE, the prize will be revealed at a ceremony to be held on July 22 in Dubai. 

The regional finalists for womenwsear include Sania Maskatiya from Pakistan, Taller Marmo and Bleach from the UAE, Misha Lakhani from Pakistan, and Bashar Assaf and Mira Hayek from Lebanon. With the menswear finalists comprising Republic from Pakistan, Suket Dhir from India and Thamanyah from the UAE. 

The coveted awards have regional competitions in Shanghai, Sydney, Antwerp, New York, and London as well as the new Middle east and India regional category. The menswear finalists will gather in Pitti Uomo Florence in January, whilst the womenswear finalists will gather in New York in February around Fashion Week. The international winners of each category stand to win a further AED 300,000 as the grand prize.
