Italian luxury label Gucci has launched a new digital feature on its native app named Gucci Places. Designed to share insights into iconic places that provide the inspirations behind the coveted collections by the maison's Creative Director Alessandro Michele, the app is linked directly to the mobile's GPS system. Here Gucci Places automatically alerts the user of each venue's close proximity and offers a brief history of each venue with accompanying texts and visuals as well as the hosted shows and events.

The first location under the spotlight in Gucci Places is Chatsworth in Derbyshire, England, the location of choice for Gucci's Cruise '17 campaign shoot (pictured). Each visit to Chatsworth through the Gucci Places app notification will earn the user a unique digital badge.

After Chatsworth, Gucci will reveal more venues, each one with its own dedicated badge and motifs to be redeemed, so watch this space. In other Gucci news, take a look at the new must-have Gucci Décor collection.
