A new collaborative effort by Salvatore Ferragamo and Orange Fiber proves that luxury can co-exist with sustainability.

Italian luxury house Salvatore Ferragamo and textile innovators Orange Fiber, have teamed up to create a capsule collection made exclusively from the by-products of citrus fruits. Orange Fiber – who counts Buro 24/7's Miroslava Duma as partner and investor – uses its technological expertise to turn the wastes from squeezing citrus fruits into a lightweight silk-like material, the first of its kind in the world. While Ferragamo looked to Orange Fiber for the fabric, the maison turned to architect Mario Trimarchi to provide the design prints – think flora alongside abstract elements – resulting in a light and airy collection that's perfect for the season. Expect apparel as well as accessories including scarves.
