This Autumn/Winter 15 season, ex-Marc by Marc Jacobs creatives Katie Hillier and Luella Bartley will officially launch their own luxury label.

The duo quietly showed their new creations to buyers during Paris Fashion Week earlier this month, and are set to deliver their first collection to select retail outlets worldwide come August 2015.

The Hillier and Bartley designed lineup features ready-to-wear, accessories, and bags all following a quintessentially British theme. Telling WWD that the new brand revolves around “a masculine elegance,” the two women have incorporated Savile Row cloths, velvet, silk, merino wool and shearling across tailoring, dresses and separates.

The ready-to-wear will be made in the U.K, with fabrics sourced from British mills and the accessories will be created in Venice, Italy.

According to insiders, the decision to launch their own label – simply called 'Hillier Bartley' – as made before they learned of the Marc by Marc Jacobs closure.

"Hillier Bartley is a very personal project which Katie and I have been working on for years," Luella Bartley noted, who before working with Marc Jacobs on his diffusion line, had her own namesake label, which closed due to funding problems in 2009.

"It is a culmination of everything I have learned as a designer and a woman, and is purely and defiantly about the clothes and fabrics. We have also looked at the women we admire, what we would want to wear and the inspirations that have been close to us for ages," Bartley also revealed to WWD. "Its ultimate heroine lies somewhere between Ian McCulloch and Katharine Hepburn. It's about a woman our age, indie by heart, rakish and irreverent by nature, who is maturing into refinement and naturalness."

Hillier noted that she and her new business partner have always worked together “in different ways. Now we are finally putting all our experience into making something that’s a reflection of us, of what we want to wear. I’m really proud of what we’ve made — the craftsmanship, attention to detail and design. It’s been a real labor of love, and I am looking forward to seeing women we admire carrying our bags and wearing our clothes.”
