Here’s everything you need to know about Rihanna’s Fenty fashion line

Plus, your first look at what to expect...
We have the details, the date and the drop information right here...

Just ten days ago, Rihanna and LVMH have both officially confirmed that a Fenty fashion house is definitely in the works and whilst we thought that we had to wait for the launch, we were wrong. Well, sort of. We actually don’t have to wait much longer as the artist has revealed that the new clothing line will officially drop on May 29, 2019 (hoorah!).

In a matter of days, Fenty will enter our lives and we know it’s bound for success.

An advocate of breaking barriers in both her beauty (Fenty Beauty) and lingerie (Savage X Fenty) ventures, she’s already making history as the first African-American woman to have her own luxury label under LVMH.

So, what can we expect from the conglomerate-owned brand? Rihanna shares the deets in a new interview with T Magazine

On the collection…

The debut collection for Fenty will consist of ready-to-wear, footwear and accessories. What’s even better is that you will be able to get your hands on it immediately as Fenty will be launched with a see-now-buy-now model. A blend of feminine and masculine silhouettes too, the collection will see plenty of oversized suits, denim, corsets and dresses in pastel hues and neutrals.

“I love a corset. We put a corset in a suit, a dress, a shirt, a denim jacket, and a T-shirt dress,” said Rihanna. “I use myself as the muse. It’s sweatpants with pearls, or a masculine denim jacket with a corset. I feel like we live in a world where people are embracing every bit of who they are. Look at Jaden Smith, Childish Gambino. They dare you to tell them not to.”

On size inclusivity…

We all know that Rihanna has always believed in inclusivity right? So it’s fitting to know that she’s incorporated this into her new label too. The new offering is set to go up to a size 42.

“I’m think and curvy right now, and so if I can’t wear my own stuff then, I mean, that’s not gonna work right?” the artist said.

On monthly drops…

Yes! Fenty isn’t following the traditional fashion model and will be releasing new monthly collections because “as a consumer, I hate seeing something on the runway and then having to wait six months for it. I was to be disruptive as possible. The brand is not traditional. There is no runway show. It’s a new way of doing things because I believe that this is where fashion is going to go eventually.”

On the inspiration of the first collection…

Fenty’s debut collection is described as “strong and edgy” however; all forthcoming collections are inspired “free postcards or booklets at hotels in Barbados from years ago.” The singer also has a few dress and skirt suits made of “ancient prints.”

OK, we’ve got nine days left to go. We can do this!
