It's official! Vera Wang is set to be a French knight, following in the footsteps of Sonia Rykiel (who passed away this August). The New York-based designer will be presented with the Chevalier of France's National Order of the Legion of Honor on February 28 and as a show of gratitude, Wang will drop her slot at her native New York Fashion Week in favour of the Paris edition instead. Wang told WWD“Part of the frustrating thing for me in New York, the calendar is so full now that it’s insane to try to get models and hair and makeup. It’s a battle royale for everybody — stylists, model agencies — everybody is just crammed in."

But that's not the only change; instead of the conventional runway event, Wang will be showcasing her Fall collection through a short film instead. Details on the film are scarce but she's reportedly set to work with long-time collaborator, director Gordon von Steiner, for the project. Watch this space...
