Following its appearance in Doha earlier this month, Fabergé's first 'Imperial Class' egg in almost 100 years has now made its way to Baselworld 2015.

Unveiling the beautiful Fabergé 'Pearl Egg' at the iconic Swiss watch and jewellery show this weekend, Fabergé also named the egg's buyer as Mr Hussain Al-Fardan, chairman of the Alfardan Group and founding director of Investcorp. Al-Fardan is also one of the most renowned natural pearl collectors in the world.

Harnessing 20 highly skilled workmasters, the objet embodies 139 fine, white pearls with a golden lustre, 3,305 diamonds, carved rock crystal and mother-of-pearl set on white and yellow gold. Each pearl showcased on the Fabergé Pearl Egg was hand-selected by Al-Fardan from his private collection.
