Ellen DeGeneres is adored by millions thanks to her 11 years on the air of her own daytime talk show, and over the years she has shared her style and comfort through sales of various branded loungewear designs in the Ellen Shop. But now the star comedienne is launching her new lifestyle brand ED this summer with a collaborative collection for Gap Kids.

In August, the GapKids x ED apparel collection will launch for the back-to-school selling season, giving Ellen a chance to share her sharp sense of style, which cannot be separated from her values of personal confidence, with young girls. The collection has been described as: "an apparel collection and social movement...designed to help all girls realise they have the power to do extraordinary things."

The collection starts selling August 17 on gap.com and in all Gap Kids stores in the U.S. as well as in some international store across Canada, the U.K., China and Japan.

DeGeneres said of the collaborative collection: "I am thrilled that my lifestyle brand, ED, is partnering with Gap to encourage young girls to pursue their passion, whether it's math, science, sports or the arts...Following my passion allowed me to be exactly who I am today – a talk show host with a vibrant side business as a party mime." Ever the joker...
