Carine Roitfeld is hosting her own fashion show for the first time this year
Exciting times ahead
Last month, Carine Roitfeld was named the new style advisor for the late Karl Lagerfeld's eponymous brand and now, the famed stylist is staging her first fashion show this June, reports WWD.
The show will be held in partnership with LuisaViaRoma to celebrate the brand's 90th anniversary and will have a '90s theme. It will be held at the Piazzale Michelango, Florence with 5,000 people in attendance. The clothing on the runway will come from LuisaViaRoma's extensive F/W '19 collections, edited by Roitfeld, each of which pays tribute to the decade.
Plus, Lenny Kravitz will perform during the event with more performers to be announced in the coming months ahead of the June 13 show.
Speaking of the show, Roitfeld said, "As always, numbers are very important to me, and 90 is significant to this project. LuisaViaRoma is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year, and the styling of these 90 show looks will draw inspiration from the 1990s, one of the most compelling decades for art and fashion. Our superstar casting will feature top models from the era recreating iconic runway moments from the past, while a surprise musical performance will bring this nostalgia to life."
