Emilia Wickstead, Holly Fulton, Mary Katrantzou, Michael van der Ham, Mother of Pearl, Osman and Sophia Webster have been announced as this year's BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund shortlist.

The seven British-based brands will compete for the top prize – a high-level 12-month mentoring programme as well as a £200,000 grant – designed to take their business to the next level.

According to the judging panel, which includes Caroline Rush, chief executive of the British Fashion Council (BFC); Topshop managing director Mary Homer; Browns founder and owner Joan Burstein; Naomi Campbell; Britain's First Lady Samantha Cameron and Victoria Beckham, the seven chosen designers are "in a strong position to develop into a global designer brand, and represent the best of London's thriving fashion talent."
