After a non-stop round on the rumour roller-coaster, Angela Missoni has told WWD that the privately held fashion house is not for sale: "We are gratified by the attention, but we don't want to sell," she explained.

Market sources close to the brand claimed that months ago the Italian family put the business up for sale for a substantial asking price of $1.13 billion. A sale of the company would also be highly complicated as Missoni has a large family tree – with stakes belonging to Angela’s brother, Luca, and their other brother Vittorio's children – along with a number of shareholders.

According to the private source, "Angela does not want to sell," adding that Valentino parent Mayhoola for Investments and current Alitalia president Luca di Montezemolo and his son Matteo, were a few of the candidates expressing interest in the iconic brand.
