Ermenegildo Zegna has signed on Alessandro Sartori as its new artistic director. Sartori, who left his post at luxury shoe brand Berluti earlier this week, will take over as Zegna's creative head following Stefano Pilati's resignation from Zegna, who spent three years with the luxury label.

Sartori confirmed the news saying: "I grew up watching and admiring their creations and their authentic and deep values, and I am extremely excited to write with the whole Zegna team the next chapter. I cannot wait to enter their fabulous archives and to meet their artisans to start working on the new collections."

This will be Sartori's second stint with the fashion house, after spearheading Z Zegna, one of the brand's fashion branches. Commenting on the hiring, Gildo Zegna, CEO of Ermenegildo Zegna, said, "I've known Alessandro and his style for many years and I am extremely excited to welcome him back to our group. His talent, creativity, passion, and modernity make him the perfect fit to help us take Zegna to the next phase of its development."

Sartori is set to join Zegna in June and showcase his first Fall/Winter '17 collection at next year's Milan Fashion Week.
