On Wednesday, sportswear giant Adidas filed a lawsuit against Marc Jacobs, claiming that the American fashion house has copied its iconic three-stripe design for a set of sweaters. The lawsuit says that Marc Jacobs is breaking copyright laws with a sweater design that features parallel stripes down its sleeves. The lawsuit states: "Marc Jacobs' use of confusingly similar imitations of Adidas' Three-Stripe Mark is likely to deceive, confuse, and mislead purchasers and prospective purchasers into believing that the apparel sold by Marc Jacobs is manufactured by, authorised by, or in some manner associated with adidas, which it is not."
