Paris Fashion Week Menswear AW15: Louis Vuitton
The tailored nomad
Modern voyager is what came to mind as the first set of models strode out onto the grey industrial-style runway today at Louis Vuitton’s AW15 men’s show in Paris. Inspired by the creative world of the deceased fashion designer Christopher Nemeth, Kim Jones took iconic elements from his atelier, and Louis Vuitton’s archives, to create beautiful new embellishments and motifs for Autumn/Winter’s sophisticated ensembles.
The first set of looks were adorned in a Christopher Nemeth-inspired cork print, which was seen on almost everything throughout the collection – including wool duffle coats, beige jumpers, Louis Vuitton briefcases and decorating the faces of covetable timepieces.
The silhouettes were tailored and youthful, encapsulating the modern man of today. Trousers were skinny and cuffed while jackets and coats featured pointed collars and clean lines.
Large silver and gold pins were attached to turtlenecks and cardigans with LV monogram buttons and keys dangling off them. Accessories popped up in the shape of small messenger bags, backpacks and a new Damier Graphite duffle bag that also featured the Nemeth pattern.
