Creating its own bespoke texture – etched from corduroy's distinctive pattern – the in-house Fendi design team, led by Silvia Venturini Fendi, used the special fabric on almost every piece in the new menswear collection for AW15.

There were shiny shearlings and heavy statement scarves with stripes – a trend seen at a myriad of other Milan AW15 shows – boxy jackets and hefty wool coats, as well collared shirts buttoned all the way to the top.

Craftsmanship was the main aspect of Fendi's latest menswear offerings, impressing the Milano show-goers with corduroy and fur patchworks stitched into eye-catching jackets and knit jumpers, and beautifully tailored trousers.

The rich textures and serious colour palette of grey, navy and orange were juxtaposed with the Roman label's playful accessories, which included fur scarves, crocodile peekaboo bags paired with dangling humourous keychains

monster-faced backpacks with a pouch that held a football – it's all fun and games at Fendi this season...
