Buro Loves: Noon by Noor Pre-Fall 14
Cool cuts and Arabian Desert prints
After presenting a stellar Spring/Summer 14 collection to the Middle East and beyond, Bahraini cousins Shaikha Noor Al Khalifa and Shaikha Haya Al Khalifa are back with their Pre-Fall 14 offering – inspired directly by the extraordinary elements of the Arabian Desert.
Unexpected details are the key to the results achieved here. Beautiful hand stitching and homemade accents add dimension and individuality to each piece with a colour palette that is reminiscent of dawn and dusk desert scenes; navy, jade, camel, coral, burnt orange and black. The label's signature prints have a graphic emphasis, illustrating abstract desert landscapes, gazelle horns and mineral patterns.
Influenced by the 1920s 'Garçonne' look, straight silhouettes and masculine tailoring create effortless androgyny, all the while somehow incorporating the idea of magnificent sunsets, heat shimmers on the horizon and Arabian Gazelles bounding over the sand dunes.
Polished separates are layered over each other giving certain looks a contemporary appeal, and as ever, Noon by Noor's signature eveningwear is elegant, understated and distinguished.
