First look: Reem Acra's Pre-Fall '18 collection
1920s Hollywood glamour
It seems that this Pre-Fall '18 season, the collections are bigger (and bolder) than ever. Following on from Noon by Noor's Bahrain-inspired collection and Gucci's modest marvel, Reem Acra is the latest designer to release a trans-seasonal collection.
Since 1997, the Lebanese designer has enjoyed immense success in the bridal industry, as well as in ready-to-wear. A master of intricate embroidery, striking silhouettes and expert craftsmanship, she brings these qualities into her Pre-Fall '18 collection.
Completed in a pretty-in-pink palette — complemented with hues of baby blue, black and next year's Pantone colour — the 36-piece strong collection is more comfortable than previous collections thanks to its light silhouettes and delicate cuts. According to WWD, Acra said: "This is the trend, lightness. They don’t want to be bothered with heaviness. They want to be able to walk and feel cool.”
And cool this collection is with its ribbon straps, sequined embellishments, striking colour combinations, silk bows and flirty hemlines.
