Italian luxury label Bottega Veneta hosted a unique exhibition at its boutique in Villaggio Mall in Doha yesterday. Titled The Knot: A Retrospective, the travelling exhibition showcases over 100 editions of the maison's iconic Knot clutch. Since its debut in the '80s, the bag has undergone a stylish revolution, particularly since 2001 when Creative Director Tomas Maier introduced the signature closure and gave the clutch its long-standing name.

"The company never kept an archive, so to reconstruct the history of the Knot we had to search in vintage stores and private collections. It's been like a treasure hunt," said Maier. "The Knot is very much a symbol of Bottega Veneta, a link to the house's history and to its future creations." Highlights at the exhibition include the metal-chained Ellisse Knot, the hand-woven intrecciato Argento Antique as well as the exclusive edition that's bedecked with precious gemstones.
