Longchamp has long been associated with luxury travel, and now, the French maison is looking to Africa for its debut Cruise '18 collection.

Marking the first time the brand has released a collection for Cruise, Longchamp — who earlier this year tapped Alexa Chung for its Spring/Summer '17 collection, marking the second time the model has fronted a campaign for the brand —infuses its leather goods, women's ready-to-wear, footwear and accessories with intricate patterns inspired by the Maasai tribe.

On the handbag front, expect to see iconic styles, including the Penelope and Mademoiselle, reimagined with tassels, fringing, handcrafted fabrics and beaded embellishments inspired by sub-Saharan Africa — the bright colours represent African wall paintings, too. As for ready-to-wear, a selection of pieces is adorned with cashmere, velvet leather, cotton and silk. Silhouettes include safari jackets, loose blouses, trench coats, dresses and skirts.
