Buro 24/7 Middle East previously reported that a sequel to David Lynch's Twin Peaks was in the works and since the first announcement there has been many rumours that there were financial troubles and issues with the cast. Whether the video message from the actors of the series influenced the decision of the director or not the original director David Lynch will be attached to the sequel. As previously reported, it was planned to shoot nine episodes – now it has been announced that there will be more than ten.

More information came to light yesterday, after news of the sequel has once again appeared on Lynch's Twitter and has caused a storm of emotions with Twin Peaks fans, revealing that the rumours are untrue and that the series will still be returning to Showtime.
