If you're not planning to bid on any of the five Monet's that are hitting the Sotheby's auction block in February, perhaps you would prefer the rather more modern, Young Collectors Auction, at the Ayyam Gallery Dubai, instead...

The auction's catalogue of 67 lots has been released, revealing the eclectic selection of works available to bid on, which include; paintings, photography, limited-edition prints, sculpture, and installation. Some of the highlights mentioned are; sculptures by the Lebanese artist Nadim Karam and Syrian artists Mustafa Ali and Fadi Yazigi, who have the stainless steel work Spring Burst, and bronze and marble sculptures respectively, on offer.

A preview of the catalogue will be available for perusal from February 1–9 at the gallery, with experts on hand to answer questions and guide your thoughts on some of the seminal works by leaders in the art of Arab modernism.

If the opportunity to own a modern masterpiece of Arab art isn't enticing enough, ten lots from the auction, which are part of the Syria's Apex Generation (a group show that brought together five young Syrian painters and toured Ayyam's outposts last year) will be dedicated to charitable organisations, lending help to Syrian refugees, who now face adverse weather conditions in addition to all of the existing and ongoing adversity already endured. A worthy cause indeed.

The Young Collectors Auction will take place on February 10 at 7PM, at Ayyam Gallery Dubai, Al Quoz
