The fifth edition of the London hosted 'Sculpture in the City' for 2015 looks to be its best yet as iconic artists Ai Weiwei, Damien Hirst (whose 'Charity' sculpture is pictured above), Anthony Gormley, Anish Kapoor, and more all confirm participation.

The public exhibition of contemporary sculpture in the City of London will open July 9 and also see works from the likes of Cerith Wyn-Evans, Lynn Chadwick, and Ryan Gander installed around London's iconic buildings including the 'Gherkin' and the 'Cheese Grater' in the city's financial district.

"The aims of Open-City and Sculpture in the City are one and the same-creating a better built environment for communities to engage with," founding director of Open-City, Victoria Thornton explains: "I thank the artists who have lent the works and congratulate the Corporation for enabling this thoroughly worthwhile venture."

Open-City will run free educational workshops for school children during the exhibition, which runs until May 2016. Participating artists include Ekkehard Altenburger (Germany); Bruce Beasley (USA); Adam Chodzko (UK); Ceal Floyer (UK); Laura Ford (UK); Damien Hirst (UK); Shan Hur (Korea); Folkert de Jong (Netherlands); Sigalit Landau (Israel); Kris Martin (Belgium); Keita Miyazaki (Japan); Tomoaki Suzuki (Japan); Xavier Veilhan (France); and Ai Weiwei (China).
