A new Twitter handle @KensingtonRoyal appeared on the 140-character social media platform today, using the biography section to describe itself as “Updates, pictures and videos from Kensington Palace, about The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry and their Royal Foundation.”

Of course, this is not the first royal Twitter account – @BritishMonarchy was founded in 2009 and delivers general British royal family news and updates from Buckingham Palace. While @ClarenceHouse was created the following year in 2010 and shares news centered around Charles, Prince of Wales and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall.

Whilst we can't imagine that Kate and William will be using the platform to 'retweet' their besties Jay Z and Beyoncé any time soon, it is nice to know that the younger royals are playing catch up with their 88-year-old Grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, who has been embracing the 'Digital Age' since last year...
