American designer Tory Burch has launched a worldwide campaign to mark International Women's Day. Organised through the Tory Burch Foundation, the campaign encourages women to be ambitious and strive for their dreams. "While there are systematic impediments to women's success in business, cultural mores are also to blame," said Burch. "I realised that I had bought into the stigma that women shouldn't be ambitious – that it was unattractive. That creates a harmful double standard that we must overcome in order to achieve equality."

The highlight of the campaign is a celebrity-filled – think Gwyneth Paltrow, Julianne Moore, Kerry Washington, Melinda Gates, Reese Witherspoon, Anna Wintour – public service announcement that calls women to own their place in society without fear of convention and tradition.
