French artist, and a Buro 24/7 Middle East favourite, JR, has created a new high impact art project – Wrinkles of the City. The concept was born in 2008 and brought to the world stage in 2012 when a special edition of the idea was created as part of Havana Biennale. This new installation is set among the urban landscape of Istanbul, Turkey.

The series is meant to visually portray the faces affected by the rapid urbanisation in some of the world's largest cities, and it focusses on the expressive faces of the elderly population. The portrait installations that adorn the side of buildings, and alleyways in a large scale, ask on-lookers to take in the effect of the 'wrinkles of the city,' and the stories that they tell.
