Prince George had relinquished the limelight to his little sister, who was recently christened at Queen Elizabeth's Sandringham estate in Norfolk. But now the young prince is enjoying the attention again, as he celebrates his second birthday.

Kensington Palace has released a previously unseen photograph of the royal toddler, snapped by Mario Testino (on the day of Princess Charlotte's christening), happily in his father, the Duke of Cambridge's arms, looking gleeful and a little bit cheeky.

"This photograph captures a very happy moment on what was a special day for the Duke and Duchess and their family," said a spokesman for Kensington Palace. "They are very pleased to share this picture as they celebrate Prince George's second birthday."

Buro 24/7 Middle East wishes Prince George many happy returns today as he turns two.
