Emma Watson has announced that she will host a special London event this Sunday to raise awareness for her HeForShe gender equality campaign

United Nations' (UN) gender equality ambassador Emma Watson has taken to her official Facebook page to announce a special London event. As part of her HeForShe initiative, Watson posted a video urging people to get involved with the event, which will take place this Sunday.

"I hope you'll join me on Sunday March 8 at 1PM NYC/5PM London-time for a conversation about HeForShe and gender equality, live on Facebook," the 24-year-old wrote on her Facebook post.

"Thank you so much for all of your support and participation so far," she added. "It's been absolutely amazing, and an amazing adventure, journey and experience for me. So thank you, thank you. You guys are awesome."

The actress most famous for her role as Hermione Granger in Harry Potter, first announced her HeForShe campaign in collaboration with the UN in September 2014 at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland.
