Kanye West has finally released his new album The Life of Pablo. The album provided the soundtrack to the Yeezy Season 3 show, his latest clothing line collection which was livestreamed from Madison Square Garden on Tidal.

Originally titled Swish, West changed the album name to Waves before finally settling on The Life of Pablo on Thursday, announcing the confirmed album name and final tracklist via Twitter. Interestingly, many of the songs he released in 2015 did not make the cut. Only two, "Fade" and "Wolves" featuring Sia, appears on The Life of Pablo.

The name Pablo has been a source of discussion amongst fans but insiders have suggested that the name is in reference to artist Pablo Picasso. During a lecture West gave at Oxford University, he said: "My goal, if I was going to do art, fine art, would have been to become Picasso or greater." This was further enforced in the lyrics to the song "No More Parties in L.A." where West sang, "I feel like Pablo when I'm working on my shoes, I feel like Pablo when I see me on the news." "No More Parties in L.A." featuring Kendrick Lamar did make the final tracklist.

The Life of Pablo by Kanye West is available now on Tidal.
