Sound gurus Bose have collaborated with the Norwegian design studio MVM to produce a series of portraits that optimise 'Women in Music 2014' as part of the #LayersOfSound 'A Year in Music' campaign.

Bose have selected six female artists that sum up the year in music and MVM studio founder Magnus Voll Mathiassen has drawn portraits in his signature style to represent each one. The artists selected are: Maddie Ziegler, FKA Twigs, Iggy Azalea, Kate Bush, Nicki Manaj and Taylor Swift. All chosen for their crucial contribution to the musical landscape of the past year.

The artists were chosen for their own stand out reasons: Taylor Swift is this years best selling artist, say no more. Nicki Manaj broke online viewing records with her Anaconda video on Vivo. Kate Bush made an extraordinary come back after decades out of the limelight. FKA Twigs released her debut album this year and stunned fans with her individuality. Maddie Ziegler's look from Sia's Chandelier video was the strongest visual created in any video of the year and her outstanding dance routine has memorised millions. And finally Iggy Azalea has divided opinions and dominated the headlines with bust-ups and make ups and all the while has remained in charts with her string of hit collaborations.

The release of the 'Women in Music 2014' element of the campaign comes one week after its predecessor 'Men in Music', which saw Bose enlist the talents of artist Jody Barton who created some fantastic and obscure representations of Pharrell Williams, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Prince, Conchita Wurst and 5 Seconds of Summer.
