New York's Madison Square Garden hosted the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards last night as the music fraternity honoured their very best. Some of the night's big winners included Calvin Harris, Fifth Harmony as well as Beyonce. However, the biggest award of the night was presented to Rihanna, when she receieved the prestigious Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.

Away from the awards, performances were aplenty as music heavyweights BeyonceRihanna, Arianna Grande and Britney Spears, who returned to the MTV stage after a decade, took to the stage.
