Netflix has released the trailer for the upcoming film First They Killed My Father. The movie, directed by Angelina Jolie and counts her adopted Cambodian-born son Maddox as one of the executive producers, is based on the memoirs of Loung Ung, a former child soldier under the Khmer Rouge regime who was forced to fight for the Cambodian leader Pol Pot. "In a way I'm doing this for her, her family and for Cambodia, and also very much for Maddox so he learns who he is and knows who his people are," said Jolie. "Maddox helped me with the script and it isn't just because he's my son but because this film is through the eyes of a child."

First They Killed My Father will debut on September 15 on Netflix. In other movie news, watch the trailer for House of Z starring Zac Posen.
