The first official trailer for Blade Runner 2049 has been released and it looks set to be a sequel worthy of its original classic. Set 30 years into the future after its predecessor, the new film stars Ryan Gosling as Officer K as well as Harrison Ford who reprises his role as Rick Deckard. The trailer begins with a dark and wet Los Angeles before cutting to a barren desert land where Officer K attempts to seek out Deckard. While the plot remains unclear, Deckard's narrated voiceover says: "A replicant is like any other machine. They're either a benefit or a hazard. If they're a benefit, they're not my problem," which suggests that the humanoids are once again out of control.
The film, which is produced by Ridley Scott, directed by Denis Villeneuve and stars Robin Wright, Jared Leto, Ana de Armas, and Dave Bautista. Blade Runner 2049 will be released on October 6, 2017. Meanwhile, watch the trailer for the Tom Cruise-starred The Mummy.
