A truly Arabian tale
It's official! Egyptian-Canadian actor Mena Massoud will play the titular role in the cinematic adaptation of the 1992 Disney animation, Aladdin. The announcement was made at the D23 Expo in California, where other leading roles in the Guy Ritchie remake were also revealed; Will Smith will play the iconic genie while British actress Naomi Scott is set to play the coveted part of Princess Jasmine — a role that saw the production team hold auditions worldwide, including a stop in Dubai.
