Just two days after the Golden Globes 2018 nominations were released, the Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG) have named their nominees for the 24th edition and there's a mix of deserving contenders. Following the controversy surrounding the Golden Globes exclusion of female directors, the SAG nominations are female-dominated with Nicole Kidman, Margot Robbie, Claire FoyMillie Bobby BrownElisabeth Moss and Robin Wright all recognised for their work  in their respective categories.

Set to acknowledge outstanding performances in film and prime time television, the list of nominees — who are voted for by their peers — are often seen as an early prediction of the Oscar winners.

On the film front, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri received four nominations whilst Lady Bird followed closely behind with three. Steven Spielberg’s The Post was completely shut out from the list and The Shape of Watera strong contender at the Golden Globes, is only in the running for two accolades.

It is the television category that has everyone talking. Three of the leading ladies of Big Little Lies — Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern — are nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor and Stranger Things and Glow both received four nominations. The Crown and The Handmaid's Tale follow closely behind.

The Screen Actors Guild 2018 awards ceremony is set to take place on January 21, 2018. See the full list of the nominees below...
