Here's what to do if you're in town this weekend
Although the traffic has calmed down (hooray!) and the streets feel quiet, there's still plenty happening across the UAE to keep those of us who stayed in town over the holidays thoroughly occupied. From sporting extravaganzas to concerts and shopping festivals, this weekend promises to be a good one...
1. Mubadala World Tennis Championship, Abu Dhabi
The 10th edition of the Mubadala World Tennis Championship is one of its biggest yet. It started yesterday however the big-ticket games are taking place today and tomorrow and are ones you won't want to miss. World #12 Novac Djokovic will take on either Roberto Bautista Agut or Andrey Rublev in the men's final on Friday evening whilst former world #1 Serena Williams will make her comeback on Saturday night. Williams will play Jelena Ostapenko at 5pm — both women are the first females to appear at the championship.

2. Fat Joe to perform at BASE, Dubai
If you haven't been able to get What's Luv? out of your head since 2001, you're not alone. American rapper Fat Joe was responsible for the track (on which Ashanti also sang) and he is performing this weekend at Dubai's first home-grown nightclub, BASE, which is located in d3. Find out more here.
3. Dubai Shopping Festival, Dubai
Those partial to a shopping spree are in for a treat this weekend with the Dubai Shopping Festival officially underway.
